Rick grew up in Colorado, Utah, Kansas, Ohio, Michigan, and Pennsylvania. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Physics and a Master of Arts in Biblical Studies. He has worked as an engineer on various research and development projects for several high tech companies. He enjoys theological research and teaching.

He met his wife (Kim) in a computer programming class at college, and they became study partners in their Physics classes. They were married in 1983 and currently live in Chantilly, Virginia.

Kim is originally from Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Math and Physics and has worked as an engineering assistant and accountant. When she is not helping Rick with the ministry, she enjoys reading, cross stitch, piano and baking.

Rick and Kim became Christians and Sabbath-keepers as young adults before they were married. They have served for many years in congregations throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Maryland. In 2006, they started Didactic Ministries to provide Christian education to an ever expanding audience. They have traveled extensively throughout the USA and have provided Christian educational materials to individuals and ministries throughout the world.
